Pitfall for the Atari 2600 by Mega
Mega
Pitfall is the game that the Activision of the '80's is known best for. Pitfall Harry travels through 255 screens of jungle in a hunt for treasure. You have 20 minutes and 3 lives to pick up as much treasure as you can find (there's 32 of them). You'll have to avoid scorpions, snakes, campfires, gators, and various kinds of pits that you can fall into. The only way to find all of the treasures in the 20 minutes allotted is to make use of the underground tunnels, which provide shortcuts (each distance underground equals 3 surface distances), though they often dead-end. The game is easy to pick up, but difficult to navigate through, which is why you can play it for hours the first time. If you score 20,000 points, you are eligible to receive the "Explorers Club" patch.
