Tax Avoiders for the Atari 2600 by American Videogames
1982 American Videogames
Tax Avoiders is a fairly basic game, but it's full of symbolism. The object is to collect money (dollar signs) while avoiding red tape (yes, red tape). Each level of the screen represents a bureaucracy, with the "left" and "right" divided by an elevator ("political center"). The days of the year pass by, and once each season you'll be taken to a second screen, in which you'll try to climb up to grab the tax sheltered investment and return to put in into your portfolio. Meanwhile you can try to catch the investment advisor, while avoiding the IRS agent and CPA. Try to get as rich as you can in one year.
NOTE: These carts look similar to the Sega carts with grips In fact, if you catch the light just right, you can see a shadow of the word "Sega" on the back of the Tax Avoiders cart.
